A truck made of jelly

Wobbly Jelly Truck is a physics game about a very unusual truck: it is made entirely of jelly. Every bump makes it wobble, every landing makes it squash, and it bounces and jiggles all the way to the finish flag. Underneath the fun is a real little soft-body physics engine. The truck is a ring of points joined by springs, and each frame the jelly tries to spring back to its truck shape, so it bends and stretches like the real thing instead of moving like a solid box.

That squishiness is not just for show. You can change the truck's shape on purpose: squish it flat to slide through a gap that is far too low for a normal truck, or make the jelly spring up to bounce over a row of spikes. Most levels need both, often one right after the other.

Squish, bounce and tilt

Driving is simple: hold right to go and left to reverse. The wheels are soft too, and they grip the ground through friction, so you can feel the difference between grippy grass, slippery ice and the springy orange trampoline pads. Climbing stairs is a matter of keeping your speed up and letting the jelly bend over each step.

Squish is the down button. While you hold it, the jelly truck flattens and stretches into a low, wide shape that can slide through tunnels much lower than its normal height. Let go too early and you will get stuck under the ceiling; let go once you are through and the truck pops back up. Bounce is the jump button. The jelly briefly swells and springs off the ground, which is how you clear spikes and gaps. On the moon, where gravity is much lower, a bounce carries you a very long way.

In the air, the left and right buttons tilt the truck forwards and backwards. Use them to line up your landing on the wheels. If you do land upside down, a friendly push flips the truck back over after a moment.

24 levels in three worlds

Jelly Garden introduces everything on green hills under a blue sky: hills, bumps, the first gaps, the first low tunnel, spikes to bounce over, stairs and a trampoline. Candy Hills opens when you have 10 stars, with taller hills, slippery icing, licorice tunnels and rows of sugar spikes. Moon Base opens at 28 stars and turns the gravity right down: enormous floaty bounces across craters, long gaps, airlocks to squish through and meteor fields of spikes.

Every level has three jelly gems to collect. Some sit on the ground, some float high above a trampoline or a hill, and some are tucked inside a tunnel or over a gap, so collecting all three takes a bit of planning.

Stars and par times

Each level is worth up to three stars. You get one for reaching the flag, one for collecting all three gems and one for finishing within the par time shown on the level button. Getting all three on the same run means taking risks for the high gems while still keeping up the pace. Stars unlock the next worlds, and you can pick a different jelly colour from the menu at any time.

Tips for wobbly driving

Keep moving: speed helps the jelly roll over bumps and steps. Start squishing a little before a tunnel and keep holding until the whole truck is out the other side. Bounce just before the spikes, not on top of them. Before a gap, build up speed on the ramp and bounce at the edge. When you land on a slope, tilt the truck to match the ground so both wheels touch down together. On ice, don't stop on a hill: you will slide back down.

Real soft-body physics

Soft-body physics is how games simulate squishy things like jelly, cloth and rubber. Instead of one rigid shape, the object is made of many small points with springs between them. Wobbly Jelly Truck also uses a technique called shape matching: every step, the game works out the best-fitting rotated copy of the truck's original shape and gently pulls each point towards it. That keeps the truck recognisable however much it is squashed, and it is what makes the jelly spring back when you let go of squish.

Controls

On a computer: the right arrow or D drives, the left arrow or A reverses (and tilts in the air), the down arrow or S squishes, and Space or the up arrow bounces. R restarts the level and P pauses. On phones and tablets, big buttons appear under the game: drive and reverse on the left, squish and bounce on the right.

Free, safe and made for every device

Wobbly Jelly Truck runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones. There are no adverts inside the game, no accounts, no chat and nothing to buy, and your stars are saved only on your device. See the Parents & Safety page for more.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get through the low tunnels?

Hold the squish button (โ†“, S or โค“) before you reach the tunnel. The jelly truck flattens and slides underneath; let go once you are out.

How do I get over spikes?

Press bounce (Space, โ†‘ or โค’) just before the spikes. The jelly springs into the air and over them.

My truck landed upside down. What now?

Wait a moment and it flips back over by itself. Next time, tilt it in the air with left and right.

How do I get 3 stars?

Reach the flag, collect all three gems and finish under the par time, all in one run.

How do I unlock the other worlds?

Collect stars: Candy Hills opens at 10 stars and Moon Base at 28.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Big drive, reverse, squish and bounce buttons appear under the game on touch screens.

Is Wobbly Jelly Truck free?

Yes. It is free to play in the browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy.
