⛷️ Alpine Ski Racing 3D
Slalom, giant slalom, super-G and downhill on one big 3D mountain. Ski every gate!
How to play
- Pick Season for the eight World Cup races, or Training to ski freely.
- Steer with A and D (or the arrow keys, or ◀ ▶ on a phone).
- Ski between the two poles of every gate. A missed gate adds 3 seconds.
- Hold W to tuck on the straights and go faster. You turn less while tucked.
- Hold S to snowplough and check your speed before a tight turn.
- Beat the rival times for a gold, silver or bronze medal.
World Cup ski racing on Mount Glacia
Alpine Ski Racing 3D is a free skiing game that puts you in the start gate of a real-feeling World Cup race. Mount Glacia is one big 3D mountain with four pistes carved into it, one for each alpine discipline, and you race against the clock on every one of them. Push out of the start hut, carve through the gates, tuck into the long straights and throw yourself across the finish line. Then look up at the scoreboard and see if your time was good enough for a medal.
The skiing is the heart of the game. Your skis carve when you turn smoothly and skid when you turn too hard, so the fastest line is a clean, round one, not a zigzag. Tucking makes you faster but stiffer, and the snowplough brake scrubs off speed when a gate comes at you too quickly. Learning when to tuck and when to check is what turns a messy run into a fast one.
Four alpine disciplines
Slalom is the shortest and twistiest race: the gates are close together and you hardly ever ride a straight line. Giant Slalom spreads the gates out for long, round, fast turns. Super-G is faster still, with big sweeping turns and a few rolls in the terrain. Downhill is the king of speed: the longest piste on the mountain, long straights where you tuck all the way, and jumps where you fly through the air before the next gate.
Every gate counts. If you ski outside the poles, you get a three-second penalty added to your time, which is usually the difference between gold and nothing. It is often faster to slow down a little and make the gate than to go flat out and miss it.
The Season: eight races
Season mode is a World Cup tour of eight races: the Opening Giant Slalom, the City Slalom, the Super-G Classic and The Glacia Downhill, then the same four disciplines again with falling snow, a twilight slalom and a glowing alpenglow Super-G, ending with the World Cup Final. Each race has rival times to beat. Finish fast enough for bronze, silver or gold, earn stars, and unlock new race suits: Team Red, Glacier Blue, Lime Rocket and the Golden Champion suit.
Training mode
Training is free skiing. There are no times and no gates you have to make: ride the whole mountain, practise the tricky sections of each piste, try the jumps on the downhill course, or just enjoy carving big turns in the snow. It is a great way to learn the courses before you race them for real.
Tips for faster runs
Look ahead, not at your skis: plan your line two gates in advance. Start every turn a little before the gate, so you pass it with your skis already pointing at the next one. Tuck only when the next gate is far away or straight below you. On the downhill, stay in the tuck in the air and land balanced. And if you miss a gate, keep going: three seconds hurts, but a crash hurts more.
The real sport
Alpine skiing has been an Olympic sport since 1936, and the four disciplines in this game are the ones you see at the Winter Olympics and on the World Cup tour. Slalom and giant slalom are called the technical events, because racers make many quick turns. Super-G and downhill are the speed events, where the best skiers reach more than 130 km/h. In every one, missing a gate means you are disqualified, so our three-second penalty is the friendly version.
Cameras and controls
Press C to switch between the chase camera behind your skier, a far camera that shows more of the course, and a low camera that makes the speed feel enormous. R restarts a race straight away if a run goes wrong, and P pauses. On a keyboard, A and D steer, W tucks, S brakes and Space hops. The hop is handy on the downhill rolls and for little corrections, but you cannot steer much in the air, so use it sparingly.
Your skis behave like real carving skis. A gentle, steady turn keeps your speed; yanking the steering all the way makes the skis slide sideways and slows you down. That is why the best racers in this game look smooth: they start turning early and hold one clean arc through the gate instead of fighting it at the last moment.

Frequently asked questions
Is Alpine Ski Racing 3D free?
Yes. It is a free 3D skiing game that runs in your web browser with no download, account or plugin, and nothing to buy.
What happens if I miss a gate?
You get a 3-second penalty added to your time. Ski between the two poles of every red and blue gate to avoid it.
What are the four disciplines?
Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super-G and Downhill, the same four alpine events raced at the Winter Olympics and on the World Cup tour.
How do I go faster?
Hold W to tuck on straight sections, and make round, clean turns instead of sharp skids. Tucking makes you turn less, so stand up before tight gates.
How do I unlock new race suits?
Win medals and stars in the eight Season races. Better medals unlock Glacier Blue, Lime Rocket and the Golden Champion suit.
Can I play it on a phone or tablet?
Yes. On touch screens, on-screen buttons let you steer, tuck, brake and hop.
